It was 8:15 on Saturday morning. The sun was in the air and dew was in the grass as Dazzy walked across campus to Tanner Jacobs\u2019 dorm room. He had managed to wrangle the rest of the gang out of bed and get them into Johnson C basement, where they sat awaiting the spoils. Dazzy was feeling good. Positivity and change were in the air.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As he opened the door to the third floor of Cummings Hall, he sensed a familiar but unexpected presence. The loud breathing gave it away first, followed by the odor of stale ham sandwiches and unjustified confidence. Jimmy Fender was leaving Tanner\u2019s room with a paper bag that he was making no effort to hide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHey bro, what are you doing here?\u201d Dazzy asked, confused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJust picking up some fucking LSD before the big game tomorrow,\u201d Jimmy barked loudly, without an ounce of discretion. \u201cGonna get fucked up, bro! WOO\u2026!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCalm yourself, my guy,\u201d Dazzy calmly interjected. \u201cHe’s trying to run a business, he don\u2019t need security getting all up in his shit. Also, you think that stuff\u2019s gonna be good for you with your high-strung ass?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI don\u2019t care what you say, man,\u201d Jimmy grunted. \u201cI\u2019ve never done drugs before, but I got three tabs and I\u2019m taking \u2018em all right now, baby. I\u2019m a real man and I can handle anything. I\u2019m fucking invincible!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAlright, uhhh, good luck with that, dude,\u201d Dazzy walked away as his eyes bugged out and he tried not to laugh. Jimmy continued to howl with enthusiasm as he left down the stairs. \u201cToxic masculinity-having headass,\u201d Dazzy mumbled to himself. He knocked discreetly on the door, and Tanner opened it to let him in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBro, you gave that knuckle-dragging buffoon LSD?\u201d Dazzy asked, incredulous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHey man, a sale is a sale.\u201d Tanner shrugged. \u201cMaybe it could make his personality better? It can\u2019t hurt.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou right, you right. But he’s gonna die.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSo you guys are having a little fun before the game tomorrow, huh?\u201d Tanner inquired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHell yeah dawg, you know how it is,\u201d Dazzy confirmed. \u201cWe all got some real baggage going on and we gotta clear our heads.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWell, this is the shit that will take you guys on a journey,\u201d Tanner said as he pulled out a small paper bag with the 10 tabs tucked inside. \u201cYou\u2019re going full Dock Ellis today, baby.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy boy Ellis, D!\u201d Dazzy agreed. \u201cYes sir!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBro, the first time I tried one of these, I watched Spirited Away on repeat the entire day,\u201d Tanner said. \u201cIt was a full five-sense experience. I couldn\u2019t get enough.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
